Prof. Abdullah Khan is a Professor of Eminence Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at B. S. Abdur Rahman University, Chennai, India. Prior to obtaining PhD from IIT,Kanpur in 1974, he obtained Master's degrees from College of Engineering , Guindy. His research interests include Analysis, optimization and control of Large Scale Interconnected Power Systems. Dr.Khan has served as Dean of Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Anna University. He has published over 44 papers in journal and conferences over the last several years. He has authored 2 Books and Edited 10 Lecture notes for summer schools /Intensive courses for Engineering College Teachers and practicing engineers. Dr. Khan has guided more than 14 doctorates.

At Present Dr.M. Abdullah Khan is a member of the Research Advisory Committee B.S. Abdul Rahman University, Vandalur, Chennai. To foster excellence in Research & Development in the University, proper advise and guidance are needed from competent group of experts drawn from different disciplines. Apart from advisory role, a set up is required to monitor and review the progress periodically and also to provide guidance to the Deans and Director. Dr. Abdullah Khan, popularly known as Dr. Khan is a leading light in the Field of Electrical Engineering. He is an authority in POWER SYSTEM ENGINEERING.

He Graduated in Engineering from Dr. Alagappa Engineering College, Karaikudi, under the University of Madras in 1960

He completed his M.Sc.,Engineering from College of Engineering, Guindy,Chennai.

He did his Doctoral degree at the IIT Kanpur

He was the Professor Planning, Anna University.

He was the Dean, Main Campus, College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University.

He is a life member of AIEEE.

He has served and serving in the Governing/Advisory councils of various Educational Institutions and Government Bodies.

At present he is working with B.S.Abdul Rahaman University, Vandalur as Professor Emeritus. He is also a Member of the Research Advisory Committee of B.S. Abdul Rahman University, Vandalur, Chennai.
